April Blackmer is deeply committed to connecting with her patients while providing safe, effective, and compassionate care. She is passionate about human connection and believes that understanding each patient’s story is just as important as understanding their diagnosis. April is energized by the opportunity to learn something new every day, take on complex cases, and continually refine how she communicates and coordinates care. One of the most meaningful parts of her work is sitting down with patients and their families to clearly explain what has happened, what the plan of care involves, and what they can expect moving forward. She finds great fulfillment in seeing the relief and confidence on a patient’s face when they truly understand their care. April views nursing as both a privilege and a responsibility, recognizing that patients and families are often experiencing some of the most difficult moments of their lives—and that her presence, compassion, and expertise can genuinely make a difference.
